Xbox One Getting Massive Fall Update Next Week; Full Details Inside

Xbox One Getting Update

A couple of days ago, we told you how Microsoft was talking to Sony about crossplay and how Xbox was hopeful that Sony would be supportive of it. Unfortunately, Sony is being stubborn, so it doesn’t look like crossplay will be coming anytime soon. Today, we learned that Microsoft recently released a new episode of its webcast “This Week on Xbox” and in it, Major Nelson discusses a big update that will come out next week.

In the episode, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, alongside Xbox Senior Program Manager Harrison Hoffman and Xbox Program Manager Ranika Kerjrival, show off the fall update coming next week to Xbox One.

It’s a big update and in the video, the guys show off quite a few new features. Some of which include: the blocks that let you put your favorite games and player front and center, the new guide and its new sub-menus that let you dig up more information on a certain topic without leaving the game.

There is also a new app called Xbox Assist will also provide tips and tricks, troubleshooting help, and support on achievements.

Also, a new broadcast & capture menu will bring a ton of nifty features for streamers. There will also be more support for webcams. This isn’t simply useful for just streamers, as the webcams will be compatible with Skype as well, letting you do video calls without the now (mostly) dead Kinect.
