The Flame in the Flood’s Switch Version Outsells Versions on Other Platforms
In what’s becoming an upswing trend for Switch, yet another indie developer celebrates huge sale numbers for their game on the Nintendo console, beating out sales on other platforms. This time around it’s Curve Digital as its gorgeous survival title The Flame in the Flood’s Switch sales destroyed their Day One sales on other platforms including PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The indie developer told MCV that they were initially skeptical of the Switch indie success as it all sounded anecdotal, but they wanted to get a game on the system to find the truth. Publishing director, Simon Byron, said to MCV, “Indeed, it’s fair to say it’s had its best ever day on any console since we’ve been publishing it, beating any other format we have launched on. It’s done just under half of our first full month forecast in a day.”
Emboldened by The Flame in the Flood‘s great sales, the developer will be looking forward to bringing Serial Cleaner and Human: Fall Flat to the Switch soon.
