Tekken 7 Surpasses Street Fighter V in Sales

Tekken 7 Sells 2M on Consoles in 3 Months

Tekken 7‘s Director, Katsuhiro Harada let everybody in on a pretty impressive stat for the summer fighting game as it surpassed 2M in sales across PS4 and Xbox One. Harada relayed the information on Twitter when asked about its sales. It’s a strong milestone considering Street Fighter V has only broke 1.7M sold for PS4 and PC since launching last year, according to Capcom’s sales chart.

Tekken 7 retro recaps

It’s an especially strong milestone considering Street Fighter V has only broke 1.7M sold for PS4 and PC since launching last year, according to Capcom’s sales chart. While Street Fighter V is putting out an Arcade edition soon with features to help make it more of a complete package, it may not be enough to catch up to Tekken 7. In the hearts of many gamers, it would seem Namco Bandai has KO’d Capcom this generation as both companies’ long-running fighting series duked it out.

We loved Tekken 7 for its “intricate and robust fighting mechanics” in our review, and it’s good to see that the seventh title won over a huge audience, which in turn, will hopefully sustain its FGC scene for years to come.
