The Infamous and Sly Cooper developer, Sucker Punch Productions, has been in stealth mode since launching Infamous First Light in 2014. While it missed E3 2017, we finally got a show of hand from the beloved longtime PlayStation developer at Paris Games Week 2017 with a reveal of Ghost of Tsushima.
A tweet below reveals that it will be an open-world adventure title, but we’re still in the dark about how it’ll actually play.

Check out the reveal trailer below:
The trailer’s description reads:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan–until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting–the way of the Ghost–as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
A quick wiki-search of the date and location hints that the game may be about Japan successfully fending off the Mongol Invasion of Japan which took place during 1274 – 1281. The brutal war campaign saw Japan’s Tsushima Island initially lose the first invasion from Kublai Khan’s forces, but defeating the second invasion later on. That said, we have no idea if this game will be loosely based on historical elements as I hope we’ll see some Nioh‘s mixing of history and fantasy here from Sucker Punch.
Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima has no release date, but we do know it will come to PS4 eventually.
