Ghost Ship Panic and Ghosts ‘n Homonculi Are Classic Throwbacks
This is a very cool added bonus for Switch owners. The upcoming re-releases of Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Switch will include two exclusive retro mini-games, Capcom announced.
During loading screens for Resident Evil Revelations, a score attack target shooter called Ghost Ship Panic will be playable. In it, pixelated versions of the Ooze, Scagdead, and Rachel enemies drop down from the top of the screen. Your job is to blast them as quickly as possible to build up combos and points. Honestly speaking, Ghost Ship Panic is the least interesting of the two but we can see it being a nice palette cleanser after some of the hairy enemy encounters in the actual game.
In Resident Evil Revelations 2 though, a Ghosts ‘n Globins-like game called Ghosts ‘n Homonculi can be played and it looks amazing. It’s an “8-bit throwback” to the classic SNES game and it stars Barry Burton killing various enemies and creatures with the same classic animations we know and love. The snippet of gameplay released so far makes us wish Capcom would go all out and make a Resident Evil game in this style.
Playing both retro games will grant players Battle Points (BP) which can be used to upgrade or purchase items from the Raid Mode stores.
Both Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 will land on Switch on November 28th. Picking up the dual-pack at retail includes a Switch cartridge with the first game and a download code for the second.
