Dissidia Final Fantasy’s Roster Grows to 28
After revealing that Noctis would be joining Dissidia FInal Fantasy, we’re getting some more classic characters from the JRPG franchise as Final Fantasy III”s main villain, Cloud of Darkness returns. The strangely-named magic-user was part of the original roster when the Final Fantasy fighting game series debuted on PSP.
The developers have noted that they are keen on reaching 50 playable characters and eventually surpassing that number. That would make it hard to balance everything, but I hope that means we’ll get to have guest characters like Frog from Chrono Triggers or even the Tales series. For now, Cloud of Darkness’ announcement isn’t too exciting considering she’s a returning character, but it’s good to see Final Fantasy III get some love. In the trailer below, you can see Onion Knight getting wrecked by Cloud of Darkness’ flurry of magical offense.
Cloud of Darkness will be coming with Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade‘s October update. Console players, on the other hand, will be able to play the game when Dissidia Final Fantasy NT arrives on PS4 on January 30. 2018.
