3DS Edition of Minecraft Available in Stores on November 10th
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition can be picked up in retail stores as soon as November 10th, announced Nintendo of America. Nintendo tweeted out the big news, showcasing the game’s box art at the same time.
Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition was announced and released on the same day during a Nintendo Direct presentation last month. It offers the Survival and Creative modes as well as five skin packs, two new texture packs, and a whole lot more. As the name suggests, It is only playable on the New Nintendo 3DS versions of the 3DS family but it does support the Nintendo 2DS XL. We know, this all sounds very confusing.
Players can also use the 3DS’s touch screen to access their map, inventory, and to craft items. You can use the standard buttons if you choose to, making the touchscreen controls merely optional.
At the time of this writing, online multiplayer is not possible in this version of Minecraft but it will arrive in a future update. According to the official website, Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition is similar to the Pocket Edition on iOS and Android.
Are you anxiously awaiting to pick it this up on November 10th or have you been enjoying the eShop version this whole time? Either way, drop us a comment below.
