Stardew Valley on Switch Gets Approved, Release Date Coming Soon

“Finalizing a Release Date With All Parties Involved”

The Switch version of Stardew Valley has been highly anticipated but it looks like the wait won’t be that much longer thanks to a Twitter post from its publisher, Chucklefish.

As you can see below, Chucklefish CEO Finn Brice has confirmed that the game has been approved and that they are currently finalizing a release date. Exactly how long this process takes is anyone’s guess but were sensing that it won’t take too long until we hear about when we can play Stardew Valley.

Switch fans have been waiting patiently for the RPG farming sim ever since it was intending to launch this Summer. Nintendo fans, in particular, have been waiting ever since it was announced the game was coming to Wii U. That version was eventually scrapped and development moved to Nintendo’s new console. Both PS4 and Xbox One received ports last December.

A multiplayer mode is still in the cards for Stardew Valley and will be added in 2018. Interestingly, the Switch version will be the first console port to support the upcoming feature.

On a side note, if you’d like to find out more about Stardew Valley’s one-man development process, you can read all about it in the new book “Blood, Sweat, and Pixels.”
