Street Fighter V’s Capcom Fighters Network Announced
Earlier today, Capcom announced the plan to run an additional beta test for the Capcom Fighters Network this month as a way to optimize the network. This Fighters Network Beta for Street Fighter V is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 very soon, and will only be available for a few days!
According to Capcom, their intent of the beta testing is to ensure the new Capcom Fighters Network will run “as smooth as possible.” This beta is coming out next week, available from May 11th to May 14th. The beta, which is available on both the PC and PS4 will be available for players to take part in for free, even without buying a copy of Street Fighter V.
Players will also be able to play the next DLC character for Season 2, who has not yet been revealed, during this beta. At the end of this beta testing, both the new DLC character and any online progress and data will be gone. Check out the list of improvements Capcom has implemented for when the CFN beta is live:
Rage Quit Penalty System
- The latest update to the Rage Quit System back in December, which displayed a special Player Profile Icon for the worst offenders and the most honorable players is now working correctly and matchmaking logic now takes into account players online behavior. In doing so frequent disconnectors will be matched with similar opponents.
Ranked and Casual Match Loading Times
- Many players were not happy with the load times when entering online matches. There will now be a shorter transition when going into a Ranked or Casual Match.
Battle Lounge Country Flags
- Country flags should now properly load in Battle Lounges, allowing players to locate competition in their region.
Matchmaking Improvements
- It should now take less time to find an opponent in online matches.
- Added logic which avoids frequently being matched with the same opponent repeatedly.
Fighter Profile Stats
- More detailed stats will be tracked and presented on players fighter profiles.
Country / League Based Rankings
- Players will now be able to filter leaderboards based on Country or League.
Friend Management System
- In addition to adding a player to favorites, players can now add friends and follow them on CFN.
- Players can now also blacklist players.
Interactive Timeline
- On the CFN home menu, a live feed of friends’ activities is presented on an interactive timeline.
- Using the timeline, players can immediately add a recent match to their replay list, view a fighter profile, manage their friends, and adjust timeline display settings.
In-Game Announcer Voice
- The in-game announcer will give players stats on both themselves and their opponent using data pulled from the server.
