Just One of Many, Many Levels That Will Come to Sonic Mania
As knuckles makes his way through Dr. Eggman’s giant airship, we can’t help but catch some nostalgia. And the retro rewind of Sonic Mania will be a nice time capsule of everything Sonic for the current generation. You know what else that means? Better graphics. Here’s just a tiny glimpse of what we can experience in the throwback title:
This area with Knuckles, The Flying Battery Zone, was quickly showcased in the last teaser. We’re talking back when SEGA moved the release date to Summer. The area is remastered from what we saw in Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. Despite the fact that development is moving forward, we still don’t have more than a release window.
Considering that Sonic Mania is a huge compilation of 2D games rolled into one, it’s no surprise devs are taking their time. Currently involved in the project are Headcannon and PagodaWest Games. Working alongside them is none other than long-time fan developer Christian Whitehead.
See Sonic Mania on PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One when it releases. After that, expect the more recently announced Sonic Forces to arrive during the holidays. We’ll have more news on both as it comes.
