Code Vein Gameplay Trailer Features Dodge-Rolls, Soul Stealing, Despair
Bandai Namco released the first gameplay trailer for Code Vein and it looks hot to death. Also, just a little bit familiar. Yes, Code Vein has that tangy Dark Souls flavour we’ve come to know and love.
You’ve got your dodge-rolls! You’ve got monsters forsaken by God, devouring each other to stay alive(?) just a little longer. You’ve even got an enormous, beautiful setting soaked in sorrow and despair. There are some key differences, though. Code Vein appears to feature companion-based gameplay. A few scenes feature not one, but two of these damned souls squaring off against hideous beasts. This opens up some interesting possibilities. Will there be co-op features? How extensively will they factor into the core of the gameplay and the storyline? Will the companion AI be any good?
The game has a vampire angle baked into it, although based on the enemies featured in the trailer, we’re getting ‘monster’ vamps rather than the ‘sexy’ kind. Or heck, maybe there will be both! The protagonists do look pretty hot, after all. Code Vein is scheduled for release sometime next year on all the major home consoles. In the interim, check out the trailer below.
