Rumor: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Tease and What We Know

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Whispers from Germany

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is scheduled to launch this year on PC and consoles, but we havenโ€™t heard too much from the rumor mill about what the game will contain. That is, until last week.

NeoGAF forums member Ryce, who talked about Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite before the gameโ€™s official reveal last year, revealed that more information regarding the game should be coming soon after he attended a press conference in Germany:

โ€œSo I hear there was an MvCI press event in Germany a few days ago and that the embargo lifts at the end of the week. There are some big surprises in store, which Iโ€™m not going to spoil out of respect to Capcom.โ€

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Feature

Ryce seems to be in the know โ€“ back in January he teased that one of the new characters will be a Capcom villain:

โ€œI know that if I was in everyone elseโ€™s shoes and itโ€™s been a month since new information was revealed Iโ€™d take any semblance of a hint I could get. To me, the hype train is half the fun of a new MvC coming out. Itโ€™s hard hearing something cool about one of my favorite series and keeping it completely secret. I promised not to reveal the character by name or the IP that he or she hails from, but hereโ€™s a hint: the character is a villain. I know Capcom has lots of interesting and obscure villains, but thatโ€™s all I can say without giving too much away.โ€

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is the sixth installment in the series, breaking off from the three-vs-three fighting system and using a two-vs-two system for accessibility and a โ€œmore elegant and simplified game.โ€ Mechanics for off-screen counterparts have been changed as well, employing a tag-based combo system instead of pre-planned assists.

It seems weโ€™ll have to wait in anticipation for both Capcomโ€™s news and gameplay.
