GameStop has stated that the Switch units will be available for sale “as early as Wednesday March 22,” meaning that there are just five days until you get one of them in your hot little hands! Gamestop is telling their customers to check their stores for availability first, and stated they would only have individual ones. What does this mean for game bundles and The Legend of Zelda? We’ll all just have to find out together.

In a press release, the senior director of GameStop merchandising stated “GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system. We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology.” Due to the limited amount of units GameStop has previously received, and the popularity of the console, they are not allowing customers to reserve units in advance.

Demand for the Switch has been very high, and Nintendo is doubling the production of the Nintendo Switch in an effort to catch up to what Nintendo has called the fastest-selling Nintendo console ever. Nintendo has reported that over 1.5 million units were sold in the first week alone! “The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast.”
