Horizon Zero Dawn Gets New Patch; Fixes Multiple Crash and Progression Issues

Horizon Zero Dawn Gets Update

Yesterday, we told you about a Native American writer who solicited public and developer attention to the appropriation of Native American terms in Horizon Zero Dawn. Specifically, this individual wrote an essay criticizing the portrayal people in the game and the words used to describe them. The exact words in question are “savages,” “braves,” “primordial” and “tribe.” You can read more about that here. Today, we learned Horizon Zero Dawn patch 1.03 has been made available for download by Sony and Guerrilla Games.

The patch weighs in at 227.9 mb and apparently fixes several issues related to progression and crashing, which weren’t taken care after the previous update. Patch 1.02 also fixed several crash and progression issues alongside updated visual settings and performance improvements.

Horizon Zero Dawn was released last week exclusively for Sony’s PlayStation 4. The game has been very well received among critics, including us here at COGconnected. In our review we said: “Horizon Zero Dawn is Guerrilla Games’ crowning achievement in video game development. A masterful epic that outshines any game we’ve seen on the PlayStation 4 so far. Words can not do justice for what you need to see for yourself. If Sony was banking on Horizon Zero Dawn to be its next flagship franchise they’ve succeeded and Aloy will do a fine job stepping into the large shoes that Nathan Drake so recently left empty.”

Horizon Zero Dawn is available now for PS4 (with PS4 Pro support).
