As with Other Retail Stores, a Walmart Nintendo Switch May Be Your Lucky Break
To anyone who’s been grasping at straws trying to pre-order their own Nintendo Switch, those hands just might be able to get that console. All you have to do is be at the store at the right time. Walmart is selling their stock to walk-in customers in the normal ‘first come, first serve’ basis. They confirmed as much to Polygon, saying customers should call their local store to ask when exactly stock will be available for purchase. Many Walmarts just aren’t open 24/7.
Walmart’s announcement sets them alongside Bestbuy, Target, and Gamestop. These retail stores will offer the Nintendo Switch to anyone who hasn’t pre-ordered. It will come at the same price of $299, in blue, red, and gray colors. At 12:01, local time, walk-in customers can buy at Walmart if the store is open. You may not have as big a chance as that one guy in New York who stood out for weeks, but you’ll still have a shot.
We await further news about how Walmart will hand over its stock to needy customers, of which there are likely to be many. Also, we have yet to find out just how many in-store consoles will be available. But we’ll keep you updated as soon as any relevant information comes along. Until then, fingers crossed. Good luck.
