VR Ping Pong Is Coming to PSVR
Another game is joining the PlayStation VR lineup this coming week. Although not a new game to virtual reality, VR Ping Pong is brand new to the PlayStation scene. VR Ping Pong, a virtual reality exclusive title, is coming to the PlayStation VR in just two days!
Merge Games is bringing this VR exclusive title to PlayStation VR this week, on February 7th. VR Ping Pong will launch for the price of $14.99. It uses the Playstation Move controllers and the PSVR headset to give you the experience of playing ping pong in a one on one match against an opponent. And the best part? It’s all in the comfort of your livingroom! Each environment in the game features an audience that will cheer you on as you face your opponent.
Home to four different game modes, VR Ping Pong will offer game modes specific to length and skill. Practice mode is the easiest game mode, allowing players to train against AI on a point to point basis. Single match mode allows players to play single games against AI opponents. Tournament mode allows for a series of matches in the hope of being crowned the victor of the tournament. The fourth and final game mode, arcade, lets gamers improve their skills while comparing their records with friends.
Within each of the game modes players will be able to choose from a different difficulty level which will enhance the AI’s skill set. These skills: precision, velocity, power, variety of shots, depth of shots, etc. are what are affected based on the difficulty chosen.
VR Ping Pong launched last year on Steam, and was only available to use on the HTC Vive. It currently holds an 85% positive rating among Steam users, with over 70 reviews. It definitely seems like a game worth looking into if you wanted to expand your PSVR game collection!
