PlayStation VR FPS Farpoint and Aim Controller Release Date Revealed
Right on the heels of the exciting news of the PSVR popularity, PlayStation has officially announced that the upcoming PlayStation VR exclusive first-person shooter title Farpoint, as well as the new Aim Controller, will be launching on May 16! Both are sure to bring the PSVR to a whole new level, which is fantastic for fans and skeptics alike!
Farpoint, for those who might know much about the game, is a virtual reality space adventure set on another planet. The full overview of the game states: “Farpoint is an unnerving VR space adventure set on a hostile alien planet. On a mission to pick up scientists studying an anomaly near Jupiter, a rupture from the anomaly transports the player and scientists to an unknown alien world.” Farpoint is one of the more notable titles that has been announced for PlayStation VR so far, and it will be interesting to see if the space adventure in virtual reality will suck some new gamers into the VR experience.
Alongside Farpoint, there is a new PlayStation VR Aim Controller that will be released on May 16th. This controller is designed to allow players to place the PlayStation Move controllers in a gun-like grip. This Aim Controller was expressly made for first-person shooters in VR, giving players a much easier play experience.
As of right now, Farpoint is one of the few games that will support the Aim Controller. In fact, players will be able to pick up both Farpoint and the new Aim Controller in a bundle for $79.99 USD. Only time will tell what these two new items will mean for the PSVR, however it will be interesting to see whether this may be exactly what’s needed to make the skeptics believe in virtual reality gaming.
