Phil Spencer Speaks Regarding Nintendo’s Switch Show
The Xbox boss took to Twitter following Nintendo’s Switch presentation on Thursday night.
Spencer was impressed with the latest entry in the Mario franchise, saying it “looked new/fresh.” On a similar note, he mentioned that Breath of the Wild “should be great.”
The Xbox head’s evaluation of the Switch itself was also a positive one. He mused that it “will be fun to see what new game ideas come from” the Nintendo Switch.
Spencer’s comments on Nintendo’s new console came shortly after Mike Ybarra congratulated the Japanese company on their achievements.
Microsoft’s endorsements of the Switch from two of the company’s leaders come on the heels of a series of scathing critiques. Nintendo is already experiencing backlash regarding the system’s price months before its release. Time will tell whether the investors’ reactions reflect the consumer’s judgement this March. For now though, the Switch has the endorsement of fans from all over the globe, including Spencer and Ybarra.
