Gamers lucky enough to get their hands on a copy of Resident Evil 7 have been spilling secrets about the game and its gameplay elements, giving us a more in-depth look at what we can expect from Capcom’s upcoming survival horror game. An early player leaked a bit of information concerning the game’s difficulty options and course of gameplay, explaining that the game will have 3 difficulty modes, and also feature a new ink ribbon style of saving.
Here are the current options available for players, and what each of the difficulty settings contains:
CASUAL
Fast regenerating health
Frequent checkpoints
Slow enemies that cause less damage – AI is not very smart
Unlimited saves
NORMAL
Less frequent checkpoints
Enemy damage is a bit more powerful and faster than Casual. AI is more intelligent
Health regenerates slower than Casual
Unlimited saves
MADHOUSE
No Checkpoints
Enemies are faster and deadlier. Special attacks are exclusive to this mode.
Enemies are very hard to hide from
Health does not regenerate
Can only save if you find cassette tapes, which are similar to the typewriters featured in the previous Resident Evil games
