Persona 5 Gameplay Showcased in All-new Trailer

Enemies, Stealth, Dialogue, and Ass-Kickery as Seen in Persona 5

Thanks to an all-new trailer, fans of Atlus’s prime series get a better look at Persona 5 gameplay. This particular footage is centered around a mission our protagonist undertakes with trusty Confidants. We also get to hear a measure of dubbed dialogue suffused throughout gameplay.

Apparently, many missions in Persona 5 will rely on stealth mechanics. According to Atlus: “infiltrating a Palace is anything but easy. The team will need to use stealth and plan their moves wisely to ensure a successful heist. Sneaking by and/or ambushing Shadows is essential to reaching the Palace Treasure, so be sure to always make the first move.”

Gameplay also takes place in the Metaverse, essentially the “collective unconscious” of all mankind. And its just one of many “twisted” palaces themed differently through appearance. And keeping with usual themes, player and Confidants retain normal high school guises during the day, then release their Personas at night. Persona 5‘s unique masks reveal each character’s power, in which case they officially fall under their collective Moniker, Phantom Thieves. Then you inevitably access the Metaverse via phone app. From there come the Shadows.

Persona 5 Gameplay

Shadows represent main adversaries during Persona 5 gameplay. Building off the element of choice, players shall be able to coerce items from enemies, induct them as Personas, or simply destroy them. Therefore, whether you’re the diplomatic type or shoot-first, mechanics individualize your playthrough.

Persona 5 shall arrive on April 4 for PS4 and PC. Deemed 2016’s best game in a poll by 4Gamer, it represents one of this year’s most anticipated JRPGs. Steelbook editions are still available on Amazon, as well as “Take Your Heart” Premium Edition which contains a surplus of Persona merchandise. So you may want to get them while they last. And for more of the latest on gaming, remember to keep updated with COGconnected. Happy gaming.
