Mario Kart Officially Announced For Nintendo Switch
At the Nintendo Switch Presentation it was officially announced that an updated version of the Wii U’s Mario Kart 8 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has aptly titled the game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, slated for release on April 28th!
When Nintendo originally unveiled the Switch, Mario Kart made an appearance as a way to show off the portable console’s split-screen capabilities. The new and improved version of the game will take advantage of the modular Joy-Con controller for local split-screen play, with each player using one of the halves. While the confirmation is anything but a surprise, it is still good news for fans of the Mario Kart game franchise!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be even better than the original game for the Wii U. Along with all of the original game and DLC content, it brings new maps, new Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast games modes, new characters from Splatoon, King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr., and new items. As if that wasn’t cool enough, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will offer up to eight players in local wireless multiplayer.
