New Wii Sports for Nintendo Switch Called 1-2 Switch Has You Look Your Opponent Right in the Eyes to Play
If you have ever been a fan of playing or watching people play, the phenomenon that is Wii Tennis, prepare to be blown away by Nintendo Switch’s new version of Wii Sports, 1-2 Switch. Just tonight, Nintendo announced that their JoyCon hardware for the Nintendo Switch will allow players to feel sensations, like ice cubes falling into a glass, or perhaps returning a tennis serve. But the innovations don’t stop there. 1-2 Switch is a game that endeavors to bring competitive gameplay on a console to a whole new level, namely, 1v1, IRL, face to face.
Boxing your opponent silly in Wii Sports was always a bit of fun and good for a laugh at a party. Heck, even getting trounced in a match of Wii Tennis could be a good time, but to play any of these games, everyone’s eyes must be glued to the screen. Not so anymore with 1-2 Switch! This game pits you against your opponent in the most primal of ways. Whether you’re staring down your rival in a wild-west-style quick draw duel, or waiting for the right time to return a table tennis serve, 1-2 Switch makes you look your player 2 right in the eyes.
If you check out the Nintendo Switch’s official announcement video, you can see footage of 1-2 Switch gameplay suggesting a wide array of new and classic games. From the looks of things, game modes will include a variety of dueling type games as well as the return of classics like tennis. Whether it’s a wild-west style gun duel, or a fight with samurai swords, or even a magic duel with wands, you will have to watch the opposing player very closely. Fake out your friend to make them act too soon, or settle an argument over who gets to be player 1 with your quickdraw skills, there are a ton of ways to have fun with this new face-to-face interactivity of 1-2 Switch. Take a look at the trailer below:
With the new sensation-feedback from the JoyCon controllers as well as the portability of the Switch console, 1-2 Switch could easily turn out to be one of Nintendo’s best party games ever. Look forward to the release of 1-2 Switch on March 3rd when the Nintendo Switch becomes available.
