Blizzard Follows Legal Advice and Did Not Release Latest LGBT Overwatch Webcomic That Involved Positive Lesbian Relations in Russia
The latest LGBT Overwatch webcomic shows a deeper involvement of characters and their relationships, and because it involves a portrayal of a positive lesbian relationship, the webcomic has not been released in Russian. Following in accordance with advice from their legal team, Blizzard did not even try to publish the webcomic in Russian due to an array of possible repercussions.
In Russia, anything deemed as “gay propaganda” is illegal. So what’s on the website other than the holiday webcomic? A big message on the page that reads “In accordance with Russian law we cannot share this comic with our players on the territory of Russian Federation.”
