New Details Released On Nintendo and Universal Studios’ Partnership, Attractions to Open in Osaka, Orlando, Hollywood
Nintendo has shared new details regarding their partnership with Universal Studios, and announced that they will open Nintendo-themed areas at three Universal theme parks in Osaka, Orlando, and Hollywood. These areas have been described to be “expansive, immersive and interactive”, filled with shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The vision behind the project seems to be making gamers feel as if they are “inside their favorite games” as all of the “fun and whimsy you experience through a screen will now be all around you.”
In the announcement video released today, Shigeru Miyamoto promises that the two teams “are working very hard to create attractions that can be equally enjoyable to anybody regardless of age.”
The video interviews Miyamoto as well as Mark Woodbury, creative head of Universal Parks and Resorts. It shows hints of what the upcoming Nintendo areas could look like, with the background of their shots decorated with life-sized Koopa shells, Mario mushrooms, and spinning gold coins.
The Nintendo areas will open independent of one another over the next several years, and more details will be released for each specific theme park. Keep it locked to COGconnected for these future updates.
