Could We See All Xbox 360 Games Get Backwards Compatibility?
It’s no surprise really that the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program is a rousing success. New games are added weekly to the ever-growing lineup. Often they’re games we don’t really want but every once in a while a really great one comes through. The recent addition of the fantastic Lost Odyssey made many RPG fans ecstatic. Other games, like the much anticipated Burnout Paradise, are taking much longer than fans had hoped for. Well, what if every game was backward compatible? Is it likely to happen? Probably not, but if Phil Spencer has his way it could be.
In a recent interaction with a fan over Twitter, Phil stated that his, or ultimately Microsoft’s dream would be to have all games from the Xbox 360 generation join the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program but that it largely falls on the publishers to facilitate the process.
@BlackOpsXboxOne I like the progress on BC. We’d like to have all and work on 3P games is always a partnership with publisher.

With over 145 million hours of Xbox 360 games logged on Xbox One since the program’s launch in November of 2015 you know that this would be received well. In fact, should this ever come to pass it would be a feather in the cap for the Xbox One console. We all have last generation favorites we’d love to still play on our current generation consoles. It’s a lofty goal, to say the least, but one that we’d love to see come to light.
