Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare 130GB Install Size is Massive But Activision Explains

Activision Explains Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s 130 GB Size Is a “High-End Estimate”

Earlier this week, we posted a boatload of info on the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta, which is shaping up to be a pretty beefy beta from the looks of things. We also learned the special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are going to take up a lot of hard drive space. The Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Infinite Warfare need a whopping 130 GB of your system’s storage space. Activision confirmed the size after the install space was revealed on one of the games boxes from a French retailer. Given you get 2 games (Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered) in the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions, we expected a massive package. Regardless, 130 GB is still a huge amount of space.

Activision has; however, clarified what this all means for those who will be frantically clearing up space on their consoles. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare FAQ has been updated to confirm that 130 GB is indeed the required space. This is; however, a “high-end estimate” that covers both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered along with day-one updates and the additional multiplayer maps that are set to come out before December 31, 2016. For those who are unaware, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will launch with 10 multiplayer maps, while the remaining six will be released in December.

Infinite Warfare Preview

The amount of storage space that you will need to clear in order to install Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare alone on your system is yet to be revealed. Last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was 58.61 GB in size. The images that emerged recently also showcased logos for Certain Affinity, Beenox, and High Moon Studios on the games box, alongside Infinity Ward and Raven Software. To what extent were Affinity, Beenox, and High Moon Studios in the development of Infinite Warfare and/or Modern Warfare Remastered is yet unknown.

November 4th marks the most highly anticipated launch of the year, with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, along with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, releasing worldwide on the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC. The game is rated M for Mature (Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes). Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available in the Digital Deluxe and Legacy Editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
