Already Have Bioshock On PC? Free Games May Be Coming Your Way…

2K Taking High Road With Bioshock Remasters

Unlike some other companies, 2K Games has shown they are going to be a bit classier when it comes to handling the Bioshock Remasters. If you have these games already within your Steam Library, you’ll be able to get your hands on the remastered versions of these titles for free. Would you kindly read on to find out all the details?

BioShock The Collection

As mentioned before, if you already own any of the Bioshock games on PC, be it Bioshock 1, or Bioshock 2, you’ll see these Bioshock Remasters show up as separate titles within your Steam Library, allowing you to take advantage of some free gaming goodness! Much like the city Rapture, things may sound a bit too perfect, and the wrinkle in this case pops up if you don’t own the Steam versions of the game. If your copies of Bioshock are not Steam-activated, you’ll need to reach out to 2K support and provide them both your proof of purchase, as well as the details of your Steam profile itself. A few hoops to jump through, but they’re worth it for all that’s contained in these titles.

When it comes to Bioshock 2, however, you can simple enter your Games for Windows code and activate it on Steam that way, should you need to. From there, the game will be added to your Steam library, and you’ll simultaneously get a free copy of the Remastered version of Bioshock 2. These slick remasters will be rolling out on September 15th at around 3PM PT, but for those wanting to purchase the console versions of the Bioshock Remasters beginning on September 13th. Fans will also be able to get their hands on Bioshock Infinite, which while not technically a remaster, will still be visually improved as it will be based on the PC version of Bioshock Infinite.
