Yakuza 2, 3, 4 and 5 Could Be Coming to PS4

A few days ao we reported Sega’s gangster drama Yakuza 0 launches in the Americas and Europe beginning Jan. 24, 2017 for the PlayStation 4. The game will be released physically and digitally for $59.99, and pre-orders are now live at retail. Today we learned Sega is mulling over the possibility of bringing Yakuza 2, 3, 4 and 5 to the PS4.

The series has done a few remakes and remasters over the years. The original Yakuza and Yakuza 2 were remastered for PS3 and Wii U. The first game was completely remade for the PS3 and PS4.

During a livestream hosted earlier this week, Producer Toshihiro Nagoshi mentioned that the Yakuza: Kiwami remake was popular. It sold about half a million in Japan and Asia, and this is prompting Sega to consider various ways to remake 2, 3, 4 and 5 for PS4.

Yakuza 6 has been described as the end of the road for series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, but fans might take hope from the producer’s comments that they might get to step into Kamurocho’s shoes once again.

It should; however, be kept in mind that Nagoshi has not made any promises. There is no guarantee Sega will remaster of the aforementioned titles for PlayStation 4.
