Japanese magazine reveals two more Pokemon Sun and Moon characters
While viewing the trailer for the brand new Pokemon Sun and Moon, a lot of viewers had noticed a small dog like Pokemon very early on and there had been much discussion as to who these new creature could possibly be. And now according to Serebii the mystery is over as CoroCoro, A Japanese magazine, revealed the two latest Pokemon that will appear in the game. The Magazine, which comes out next week introduced Nekkoala and Iwanko that will make their appearance in the Alola region later this year.
First we will begin with the sleepy Nekkoala. The Half-Awake Normal-type Pokemon, who is likely to be encountered early on into the journey, has the ability Definite sleep which prevents the creature from being afflicted with a status effect other than sleep. Basically Nekkoala can’t be burned, poisoned, paralyzed or confused. The artwork also shows off the Pokemon attacking while half asleep while using its log for balance. How cute!
And our second reveal, one that we were sort of introduced to in the trailer, is the Rock-Type Pokemon Iwanko who is described as the Puppy-Type Pokemon and will have either Keen Eye, which prevents it’s accuracy from being reduced, or Vital Spirit which prevents it from sleep status effects.
CoroCoro had promised that its June Issue would have exclusive news for us and they really did deliver with two brand new Pokemon. However it seems that with the release date coming up this November, we still know so little. We are yet to see if any of the fan favorite Pokemon from earlier games will be making their return or perhaps Nintendo has created enough creatures to keep Sun and Moon exclusive to that generation. It would be nice to see a mixture of old and new generations like in Pokemon X and Y which would act as a great incentive for older fans to return to the franchise.
Knowing that the game is set in a tropical setting and that a now small handful of Pokemon have been released what’s next? It seems Nintendo will have news about Pokemon Sun and Moon, along with hopefully more information about Pokemon Go which is now in the very early stages of beta testing in the US, at it’s press conference at E3 this week.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will be out on November 18th 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS
