Bethesda Said To Be Announcing a Skyrim Remaster at E3 2016
Excuse me, what? Did someone say a Skyrim Remaster? If some recent rumors are to be believed there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim make its way to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles by way of the oft used remaster. A report on June 6th from the folks over at WCCF Tech suggests that Bethesda is planning to announce a Skyrim Remaster during their press conference on Sunday, June 12th. That announcement alone would be enough to send legions of fans into hysterics, but Bethesda wants to take the game even further to make it the single most definitive (gosh, we hear that term a lot) edition of the game. What does this mean? Well, it means the full roster of DLC and mods. Just like they’ve done by moving mods to console with Fallout 4, they’ll look to do with Skyrim. This changes EVERYTHING.
Whether or not all this is true remains to be seen, and we will certainly find out this coming Sunday. Further driving home the likelihood of the announcement is this post on NeoGAF where the quote known industry insider, Shinobi602 (again…) spills the beans. It’s suggested that apart from the obvious visual and performance upgrades, we will see Dawnguard, Hearthfire and the Dragonborn DLC incuded.all the DLC. There is also further mention of the allowing of mods which supports the claims made by WCCF Tech as well.
Where does this leave us for the next installment in the Elder Scrolls series? Well, if these rumors end up to be true it’s very likely that any sort of Elder Scrolls VI announcement won’t be coming until 2017 some time.
For now, all we can do is wait, and hope. COGconnected will be live at the Bethesda E3 press conference so you can keep it locked here for up to the minute information as we get our hands on it.
