Bet You Didn’t Know… Psychonauts Comes to PS4 on June 7
Psychonauts is a classic platformer from Double Fine Productions that follows a young psychic named Razputin. In his quest to join the Psychonauts, he breaks into their secret training facility: Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp. Raz must use his psychic powers of Telekinesis and Levitation to fight mental demons, unlock hidden memories, and sort emotional baggage.
If you missed out on this game during the PS2/Xbox era then you are in for a treat. One of Tim Schafer’s best games EVER, Pyschonauts was released to universal acclaim from fans to critics alike, once they figured out the game existed. It received generally poor sales and was a major loss for the publisher at the time, Majesco. It gained a strong cult following a few years down the road, and it was so good that talks over the years of a Psychonauts 2 frequently got fans all riled up. In December of 2015 at The Game Awards, it was finally announced that we would finally get our wish. Aiming for a 2018 release, Psychonauts 2 is now in production at Double Fine after a $3.8 million crowd-funding campaign through Fig.
For now, you’ll just have to enjoy it as a digital download when it drops to your PS4 on June 7th!
