Developer Reverie World Studios has released their new title Kingdom Wars II: Battles on Steam. The real-time strategy game breaks new ground by bringing zombie survival gameplay to medieval strategy.
Reverie World Studios opens up a fresh perspective on the fantasy RTS genre, combining the best of zombie survival and long term crafting with complex fast-paced city-building and skirmish battles. Players can engage in brutal siege combat, fighting each other as well as thousands of zombies. As war leaves hundreds dead on the battlefield, players need to take their time to loot and burn the bodies – or the dead will rise. Fortunately, zombies can be used strategically: leaving fallen troops near enemy towns surely is something players have to deal with!
“Bringing zombies to a large-scale RTS game has never been attempted before, and we think it adds something innovative to the strategy genre. Building and defending huge medieval castles against thousands of zombies is as much fun as it sounds. Especially if other players are working against you in a PvP battle, using the undead to their advantage”, said Konstantin Fomenko, Reverie World CEO.
Besides zombie survival elements, Kingdom Wars II: Battles features a persistent online RTS experience with realistic siege combat, a complex economic model, an elaborate crafting system, as well as three distinct classes. An epic story-driven singleplayer campaign, a powerful world editor, and a tactical card game complete the picture.
