Praise The Emperor! Dawn of War 3 Announced

Fans of 40K, The Emperor Answers Your Prayers With This Dawn of War 3 Reveal

Relic pleased a lot of folks today by dropping this tasty bit of news onto the internet. Relic and Games Workshop have teamed up to announce the long-awaited third installment of the popular RTS series Dawn of War. For the uninitiated (and heretics), Dawn of War is a series focused on the popular tabletop game Warhammer 40K. Across previous titles, players have taken the roles of Orcs, Eldar, Tyranids, Necrons, Space Marines, and the Daemon-worshipping forces of Chaos in some damn near excellent RTS gameplay that captures the feel of the  40K universe. Battles always felt suitably huge, and Dawn of War 3 is promising to raise the stakes, including some of the massive units seen on the actual tabletop. Across three different factions, players can expect to fight with and battle against the suitably intimidating units such as Imperial Knights, Gorkanauts, or Wraithknights.

Dawn of War 3’s story picks up with Gabriel Angelos and the Blood Ravens, where they are forced into battle on Acheron due to a disastrous weapon showing up. He and his Space Marines will do battle with Orks and Eldar across a single player campaign, but players will also be given the chance to step into the shoes of their enemies, seeing how each of the three unique factions plays differently. Fans can also expect the presence of a robust online multiplayer mode, where fans can work together, or tear each other limb from limb in co-operative and competitive play. Allies can quickly turn to rivals, and you may find assistance from unlikely sources.

Not much else has been made known about the game, but Relic is promising this to be the biggest Dawn of War title yet, and you can head on over to the Steam page for more info. If that’s not enough, you can also mosey on over to the main page for the site, or give them a follow on their Facebook and Twitter. We’ve also got the trailer here for you to feast your eyes on, so let out a hearty WAAAAGH and enjoy what is probably one of the coolest trailers ever.
