As we reported earlier this week, Microsoft closed two European game studios, including Lionhead Studios, and cancelled the highly-anticipated title Fable Legends. Well, some of those former Lionhead employees might be in luck: Sony has just announced that they will hold a recruitment event on Monday, inviting Lionhead staff to come “for a drink and a chat.” The Tweet goes on to say that “there’ll be people there from all our SCEE studios and if you’d like to a book a time for a chat on the day, please DM for details.”
This is both a potentially good-news story for those laid-off employees, and a PR bonus for Sony, as they play the role of the “good guy” to Microsoft’s “villian” (in the eyes of some). We will keep you posted on what, if anything, comes of this latest development in the Lionhead Studios saga.
