Indie Thriller ‘Obscuritas’ Reads Your Fear and Uses it Against You

You may pretend that you’re not scared, but a new horror title coming tomorrow knows the truth. It can actually read your fear, and then use against you later in the game. That is frankly very disturbing, but it makes for a pretty interesting game experience. That game is first-person psychological horror adventure Obscuritas from VIS Games, and it’s available tomorrow in the stores as digital and boxed version for $19.99.

Playing as the female protagonist Sarah, you will explore the old Mansion she just inherited from her late great-uncle trying to unravel the dark secrets surrounding this mysterious place. Throughout the game, the game’s unique fear recognition mechanic will constantly monitor your reactions in different situations to create a personal fear profile. No word from the developers on how it will do that, but possibly from the motion of the controller. Then, later in the game, the House reacts to your personal profile by individually adjusting the experience according to your fears and phobias. Bottom line, it’s gonna scare you up real good.
