Open-world RPG fans rejoice – Liminal Games, a small game development studio, has apparently just released a large content update to their debut game The Memory of Eldurim. The Memory of Eldurim is a an open world RPG described as Dark Souls meets Skyrim, running on the CRYEngine. It aims to take the deep combat system of the former, and add it to the open world and RPG elements of the latter.
The update brings “a large, beautiful new area inspired by gothic architecture,” according to the developers. Check out the update trailer below to see what it looks like:
Apparently, the new area adds in new enemies, loot, puzzles, a new boss, and additional storyline. “We have been working on this update and it brings us a lot closer to where we want to be. This update adds a good chunk of gameplay hours,” said Liminal Games’ CEO Bryan Excell.
The game is currently for sale on Steam through Early Access. But the developers have told us that they will be actively participating and listening to feedback. “It is no secret that Early Access has a certain reputation. We’ve all been burned by games that weren’t complete, or even playable. We gave the devs our trust and support and they run with the money,” Said Excell. “What people really want is to know the devs are working hard and that they care about the project. This is what we do.”
Even though this is a large update, Liminal Games is already apparently looking to the next. They are working on additional features, aiming to get more in soon including bows and arrows, crafting, and more weapons and armor. So stay tuned to COGconnected for more news on this and other RPGs coming up.
