Following the detailed reveal at their PAX Prime panel last week in Seattle, Tripwire Interactive today officially released the latest free content update to their co-op sci-fi horror FPS game, Killing Floor 2.
Currently available now for PC via Steam Early Access for $29.99 (US), ₤19.99 (UK) and €26.99 (EU), the brand new Incinerate ‘N Detonate Free Content Pack adds 50% MORE CONTENT to Killing Floor 2 than offered in the initial Early Access launch.
In celebration of today’s release, new players can try out Killing Floor 2 with the new content for free on Steam this weekend from September 3rd – 6th. During the Free Weekend on Steam, Killing Floor 2 will also be on sale for 33% off.
The game’s developers say that fans can expect a multitude of new features including two brand new perks, Firebug and Demolitions, each equipped with its own deadly weapons and grenades. The update also includes 2 new maps that introduce different types of gameplay tactics. Zeds are lurking in every dark corner in the terrifying underground Catacombs map and players must employ the sharpest strategies in order to fight and survive the Evacuation Point map.
With today’s free content update, Killing Floor 2 becomes the first title to integrate and showcase brand new cutting-edge gore technology, powered by NVIDIA’s new PhysX FleX technology (for NVIDIA GeForce 770’s and above cards). According to Tripwire Interactive, this ground-breaking new technology enables more spectacular and realistic physics-led effects.
“With the Incinerate ‘N Detonate Free Content Pack we’re adding over 50% more content to Killing Floor 2 than when we launched a few months ago,” said John Gibson, Tripwire Interactive President. “We’re also excited that this release was heavily shaped by the feedback we’ve received in Early Access to dial in the game to what the players want.”

About Killing Floor 2
In Killing Floor 2, players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union.
Just one month after the events in the original Killing Floor, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding.
Not all have given up hope though… A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them.
Killing Floor 2 is developed and published by Tripwire Interactive for the PC and is available now on Steam Early Access. A SteamOS version of the game is planned for release at a later date.
Killing Floor 2 is also slated for release on the PS4. This title has not yet been rated by the ESRB but Tripwire Interactive anticipates a rating of “M” for Mature.
