While people get their initial impressions about the game Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, there is an assumption on most players’ parts that you can only walk in the game.
Well, it turns out, you can actually run if you want to. According to a Blog post by the game’s developer, The Chinese Room, they just didn’t tell people about the run feature when the game launched.
According to the developer, “You can sprint in Rapture. Hold down R2 and it builds to sprint speed over a couple of seconds.”
Why didn’t they tell anyone about the feature at launch? Well, in their explanation, the devs say that there was a last-minute change to the trigger mechanism for the autorun feature, and they didn’t have time to include the notification in the game’s starting screens. It is in the manual, they assure us, but it isn’t adequately explained when you play the game.
So, here is the official autorun instruction from the devs themselves:
“If you need to backtrack or get around more quickly, hold down R2 – it’ll take a few seconds before you are running fully, but it will speed your movement up.”
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was released August 11th, 2015, on the PS4. It has already been getting very good reviews.
