Divinity: Original Sin 2 Hits its Kickstarter Goal of $500,000 in Less Than 12 Hours

After launching only this morning, the team at Larian Studios must be dancing a jig and high fiving like madmen as their Kickstarter campaign for Divinity: Original Sin 2 hit its goal in a mere 12 hours. Kicking off at 5:55 AM Pacific it topped over $500K at around 5:51 PM Pacific, right under the wire. The first game in the franchise, released exclusively for PC, was incredibly well received with an average of 87 over at Metacritic and sold incredibly well. Soon, we’ll also be seeing it released to both the Xbox One and PS4 with the Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition launching on Oct. 27th. So now, with the first game’s story not entirely done, the team can already look forward to the journey of Divinity: Original Sin  2.

$500,000 richer and 11,809 backers later you can rest assured that Larian is ready to go to work! You can find out more about all the bells and whistles for the sequel on the game’s Kickstarter page. Now, it’s up to Larian to tell us what their stretch goals might be. One would assume with the console port happening for the original that they would love to bring its sequel to the Xbox One and PS4 as well. What other additions could they make for fans? Let us know what you’d like to see in the comments.
