Witcher 3 Expansions Will Be “Almost the Size of Witcher 2”

CD Projekt Red has given new details about the content and size of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s upcoming paid expansions. Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz told GameReactor that the two add-ons will together add around 30 hours of new content to the game. This makes them “almost the size” of 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, he said.

“The expansion packs will be whole new storylines with all the elements you’ve got in the main story (like cutscenes, new characters, new items, new Gwent cards) and many, many more,” he told GameReactor.

The first expansion, “Hearts of Stone,” will have about 10 hours of gameplay, while the second, “Blood and Wine,” will provide 20 hours of play, according to Tomaszkiewicz. And he added that they could be even bigger than that.

“It’s possible that they will be bigger, because it’s always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it’s twice or something like this), but I’m not promising anything right now,” Tomaszkiewicz said.

Hearts of Stone will arrive later in 2015, while Blood and Wine is scheduled for 2016.
