Deep Silver Parts Ways With Dead Island 2 Dev Yager

Deep Silver announced today that they are parting ways with Dead Island 2 developer Yager.  Deep Silver explained as follows:

“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”

YAGER Development has been previously known for the game Spec Ops: The Line and had been the lead developer for Dead Island 2 for a few years up to this point. It’s not known which developer will take over from Yager yet, but Techland had been the series’ previous dev studio.

Dead Island 2 is an action role-playing survival horror title and has been previously thought to be released in 2015.  However, the title has been beset with some problems in development, delays, and other setbacks – this change of developer is just the latest chapter in the game’s ongoing saga.
