If you were hoping for a Slim PS4, good news coming out of Japan today! Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. today announced that a new PlayStation4 will become available towards the end of June, 2015 in Japan, followed by North America, Europe and the rest of Asia.
The weight of the new PS4 system has been reduced by 10% and the power consumption by 8%, compared to the current PS4 model. In addition, the surface of the new PS4 system’s HDD bay cover will come in a matte finish, giving the system a more casual look.
From the company’s web site release, it appears that this new slim model will be for the 500GB PS4 only. A 1TB PS4 was recently announced as well, and is due to release next month.
