People Can Fly Splits from Epic Games and are Working on a New Title

People Can Fly is perhaps best known for it’s over-the-top, rude, crude shooter Bulletstorm and for its development of Gears of War: Judgement. A successful studio based out of Poland they were bought by Epic and renamed to Epic Games Poland back in 2013. In a big move today they announced on their website that they have split from Epic and that they are going back to the name they started with.

As part of the split the newly re-independent studio also announce that not only did they retain ownership to the Bulletstorm IP (OH BOY, OH BOY, OH BOY!) but that they’re working on something new as well… obviously as yet unannounced. Logic would dictate that the new game would be in development for the current generation of consoles as well as PC.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney of course wished the studio well and stated that this doesn’t signal the end of their partnership. What does this mean for People Can Fly? Who knows? The prospect of more Bulletstorm is an exciting one as it was a personal, if not underrated, favourite of mine. Keep it locked to COG for more information as it arises.
