Dwayne “Don’t Call Me The Rock” Johnson is set to start in a live-action movie adaptation of the 1980s video game Rampage.
The movie will be directed by Beau Flynn, and is set to begin production next summer. Johnson and Flynn worked together on the recent mega-hit, San Andreas (which sadly, had nothing to do with Grand Theft Auto).
The Rampage movie’s plot details have not yet been released, but the Rampage game was a 1980s arcade classic by Midway, whose scant plot involved giant monsters laying waste to the downtown of a city.
Johnson, formerly a huge WWE superstar under the name of “The Rock,” has made a successful move over to action movies. In addition to the massively-popular San Andreas, he will be starring in a remake of the 1980s cult classic Big Trouble In Little China.
