Destiny developer Bungie offered a t-shirt, along with an exclusive shader and emblem, with all proceeds pledged for donation to charities helping earthquake-shattered Nepal.
This effort raised over $1 million, according to Bungie.
In addition to proceeds from the shirt sales, the total donation includes a $50,000 gift from Activision, and $50,000 from the Bungie Foundation to match player contributions.
Nevertheless the vast majority of the funding came out of gamer pockets. Another positive story about gamers – hope the media mentions this along with the usual negativity!
