This year’s E3 will be a first for the annual international gaming convention in Los Angeles. For the first time, thousands of fans from the public will be allowed to attend.
E3 has up till now been an industry event which doesn’t allow consumers in, but this year the show is allowing 4,000 to 5,000 selected fans into the Los Angeles Convention Center halls as invited guests.
“This year, for the first time, there will be consumers in the halls,” said Rich Taylor, of E3 organizer The Entertainment Software Association. While fans have been let into the show before through contests, the ESA says this new policy is a first.
So how can you be one of these special few? “Member exhibitors each have an allotment of some passes that they are permitted to distribute to their valued customers,” Taylor said. So, start looking for a friend at a developer or publisher who can hook you up – no problem, right?
