Save Dinosaurs From Extinction as Old-school Inspired Platformer JumpJet Rex Launches

It’s time for gamers to strap on their space helmets and battle a colossal asteroid as independent video game developer TreeFortress Games today launches its nostalgic and challenging 2-D platformer JumpJet Rex on Steam (PC, OSX, Linux) for $14.99. To celebrate launch, JumpJet Rex will be 20 percent off for a week. A throwback to the hardcore platformer games of old, JumpJet Rex features fast-paced gameplay in a 16-bit aerospace world, where players take control of a Tyrannosaurs Rex with interstellar jump boots in order to save dino-kind from extinction. Players ready to jump into the challenge can download JumpJet Rex at http://store.steampowered.com//app/329460.

After a short stint in Early Access where user feedback helped solidify the game, JumpJet Rex is releasing with more than 40 levels, as well as the game modes Co-op, Rage Quit Rex and SpeedRun Rex. Players will jump, drop and dash through puzzling levels and race against the clock to not only preserve life during the Mesozoic era, but also prove their platforming prowess against other dino enthusiasts. In the coming weeks, JumpJet Rex will add party games, which include Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill.

“We love the difficulty of old-school platformers and as an independent studio we have the freedom to make one ourselves, but we also wanted feedback from the community to create a game they would love just as much,” said Mike Gaboury, art director of TreeFortress Games. “We think our collaboration with gamers during Early Access has helped us create a solid game that is easy to pick up, fun to play, hard to master, and even harder to put down. Plus who wouldn’t want to play as a T-Rex with space boots?”
