Plugged is a unique project that gives the gamer a decision-based narrative with multiple paths and endings. Developed on the Unreal Engine 4 for PC, Mac, and Linux, it has actually been designed to work best on Oculus Rift – although the devs promise that you can play it just fine on a regular PC as well.
Endtimes Studio – the team behind the game – consists of former Blizzard Entertainment, TakeOne studio, Games Workshop and Eipix Entertainment developers, among others. They are now seeking funding on Kickstarter to bring Plugged to life. If you are curious, here is their campaign page.
At first glance, Plugged looks like a regular point-and-click adventure. However, EndTimes Studio promises that Plugged will give gamers a more immersive experience due to its 3D environment. Plus, with Oculus Rift support, Plugged seems to take it to another level entirely.
Along with 3D immersion, Plugged allows for interaction with the environment. EndTimes says you will be allowed to pick objects up, examine them, and even smash them into pieces if you so desire. As for themes, the devs hint that X-Files or Twin Peaks fans will find lots in Plugged to “make them smile.”
