Today, Developer Rodeo Games announced the upcoming release of Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion, the company’s latest mobile game for iOS, built on Unreal Engine 4 technology.
Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion is set in the globally recognized Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players command a squad of Space Marines through 40 scripted campaign missions against their enemies, the Tyranids. The game will also feature online multiplayer battles, the ability to customize a squad with 40 unique Marines, hundreds of skills and abilities and collectible Wargear items to equip players’ teams.
“We were thrilled when Rodeo chose Unreal Engine 4 for Deathwatch,” said Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager for Epic Games. “These guys have amply illustrated our belief that UE4 is an excellent choice for building high-quality mobile games that really stand apart from the crowd.”
The turn-based strategy game is the studio’s first title developed on Unreal Engine 4, and incorporates a deep RPG element allowing for in-depth customization of players’ Space Marines Squad. “We had no experience with Unreal Engine before we started work on this project, but we were able to incorporate it into our company quickly,” said Rich Brooks, Technical Director of Rodeo Games. “It has been a joy to work with over the last year and it has allowed a small team like us to produce a high quality finished product on mobile.”
