That’s right, everyone’s favourite murder-for-no-goddamn-reason-at-all simulator has officially been tagged with the Adults Only rating from the ESRB. While this might come as a surprise to some as it features no sexual content and only a smattering of harsh language in comparison to other games it does feature hyper violence of the highest order. Really, it should be no surprise at all.
By giving the AO rating this ensures we’ll never see Hatred on an Xbox One or PS4 console either as neither company will allow that rating to be seen on their machines. Obviously this is a bit disheartening to Destructive Creations but as mentioned above, it was to be expected.
“I would prefer to get a standard M+ rating, because with AO we will have problems to get to consoles in the future, but on the other hand I think you guys (our fans) would be disappointed with it,” the Destructive Creations developer said.
